Post Production Feedback

Front Cover

Strengths

The audience was very attracted to my front cover as it was very bold and eye catching. The masthead also worked very well as it was bold and intriguing to look at. It looked very professional because of the colours used and the layout of the page. The colours went very well and both boys and girls were interested in reading it. The way the cover lines were placed were very easy to read and made the page look more entertaining and creative. It was different to all other magazine which have the same continuous style, but this magazine had its own individual flair.

Weaknesses

Some of my target audience thought that my magazine could have had some stronger colours such as red to make it more noticeable. My masthead also needed to be more noticeable as white can fade and become unnoticed. Few also felt that I could have chosen another background which could have brought more attention onto the model instead of the reader looking behind her. They said that I could have cut the image out of the background and placed it on a plain canvas. Some agreed that I could have chosen another font to show variation and make the magazine look more young and appealing. Another criticism was that the model could have held the guitar as if she was playing it instead. This is because the audience may feel a connection to her and they may be inspired to do what she is doing. Some said my cover lines were too limited and that I could have added more so the page looked more filled.

Contents

Strengths

Some said the contents page was very clear and concise. That they could see the page numbers clearly and would not be confused by a lot of text. Also that the font is not too small. This way they are able to read the contents of the magazine without a fuss. They also like my contents pages colour scheme and how it went with the front covers. The colours were quite ‘futuristic’ and mysterious, which attracted them more to reading the mag. Like the front cover, the contents title stood out which made the audience want to read more. They also liked the editors note as it looked very professional and well put together.

Weaknesses

They commented that my contents page looked like a webpage due to the tab like sub titles. Also that I could have used another image on the page for it too look more appealing and for the audience to have more to look at and be entertained. I also could have added more pages on the contents page so the audience has more to choose from to read and look at.

Double Page Spread

Strengths

The image I used was very striking and was very nice to look at. This made an impact on the story as a whole and made them want to find out more about the model. The colours used made the page look bright which contrasted the dark background. The location which I took the picture in was very beautiful attention grabbing. The newspaper style title was very individual looking and looked different o all magazine articles that have the generic plain heading. Was told that the double page spread looked very readable and entertaining.

Weaknesses

The pictures quality could have been better and the same with the lighting. I could have gone earlier when the lighting could have been better,
